Choose Your Fitting Type
There are two main ways shutters can be fitted.
Inside Recess
The shutter frame fits inside the window opening.
- Neat, built-in appearance
- Best for windows with a clear recess
Outside Recess
The shutter frame fits around the outside of the opening.
- Ideal for shallow recesses
- Useful when there are obstructions
Measure the Width
Measure the width of the opening in three places: top, middle and bottom.
Use the smallest width measurement when ordering.
Example
Measure the Drop
Measure the height (drop) of the opening in three places: left, middle and right.
Use the smallest drop measurement when ordering.
Example
Check the Recess Depth
Measure from the front of the wall back to the window frame or handle. This ensures your shutter frame has enough room to fit correctly.
Look Out For
Check for Obstructions
Look around the window and check whether anything may affect the shutters opening or fitting.
If unsure, take clear photos and contact us before ordering.
Take Photos
Before placing your order, we recommend taking:
- One photo straight on
- One from the left side
- One from the right side
- Close-ups of handles or obstructions
